Impact Statement Volunteers provide emotional and practical support to youth who access oneROOF Youth Services. Volunteers engage in relationship building, supportive listening, and assist young people to access the resources they need to stay alive, to stay in school, to find housing and work etc..

Description Volunteers assist in meal/snack preparation, clothing donation laundry, organizing clothing donations, providing youth with hygiene products, and accompanying youth to areas of the building (e.g. laundry room, locker room, shelter). Thursday afternoons Volunteers make and distribute food hampers to youth who access oneROOF Youth Services. Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: 3 hour standardized training (including introduction to communication and problem solving skills, maintaining professional boundaries, and community resource information). Completion of standardized training is mandatory prior to all volunteers' first front-line shift. Working Conditions: Volunteers must be supportive, assertive, motivated, eager to learn, patient, and have a sincere concern for the well-being of youth. Duration: 7 - 12 months Weekend - Daytime Weekends, 11am-4pm, 12pm-5pm
