Impact Statement The Business & Education Partnership of Waterloo Region (BEP) is a charity dedicated to helping local youth better understand and prepare for the world of work so that they can build their own paths to successful careers. We do this by creating career exploration, skill development, and networking opportunities between students in grades 7 to 12 and members of the local workforce. By guiding youth to make informed decisions about their future, we contribute to a happy, healthy community.

Description Treasurer Duties: -Aid in presentation of annual budget, audited financial statements and quarterly financial reporting in board meetings -Support staff in long term financial planning -Reconcile monthly bank statements -Review and sign cheques for accounts payable organizational excellence and continuous improvement -Work with the Executive Director to develop relationships in the community -Available to participate in quarterly board meetings Qualifications: -Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation preferred -Knowledge of accounting in the context of a not-for-profit organization is an asset -Willingness to participate in additional committee work based on organizational needs and your abilities -Able to commit to an initial term of three years -Experience in fundraising, board governance, not-for-profit finance and change management are strong assets -Prior experience serving on a board, including board leadership, is a welcome but not required

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Training and orientation will be provided by the BEP Executive Director and current Board members, including the outgoing Treasurer. Please note that, to strengthen our organization, BEP Waterloo Region intentionally aims to ensure diversity of expertise and experience around our board table. People representing all career levels and industries, and who identify as a part of one or more equity-deserving groups, are invited to apply. Time Commitment
Duration: 1 year or more Weekday - Daytime, Weekday - Evening -Available to participate in quarterly meetings of the board and Executive Committee (typically Tuesdays from 4-5:30pm) -Willingness to commit to an initial term of three years, beginning in November 2022
