Youth Performers play music at Forest Heights Community Library to bring enjoyment to customers and build their musical résumé.

Description • Arrive with enough time to set up and prepare for performance; • Bring your own instruments, music, music stands, etc. • Connect with staff who will confirm set-up space, introduce the performance, and provide assistance as needed • Perform songs for 30-45 minutes that are appropriate for all ages; songs must not include profanity, violent, threatening, abusive, or discriminatory language. •Have an interest and strong ability music (instrumental. voice. etc.) •Be referred by Grand River Stanley Park's music teacher, or provide a reference from a music teacher or music professional the community. 14-19 years.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: • Performers will be given an orientation to the library and appropriate procedures during their first shift.
Volunteers will receive role-specific training on or before their first shift; attendance is mandatory. Working Conditions: Public space in community library Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Support volunteers with special needs, Accessible work space, Support Newcomers Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 7 - 12 months Start Date:2024-10-28 End Date:2025-06-23 Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Daytime Minimum of 4 performances over the course of the school year. Performances are scheduled after school (3:30 pm - close) or on Saturdays (9:00 am - close); specific dates/times will be arranged with the Manager of Forest Heights Library
