   About the Position

Impact Statement
The Caregiver Support Program provides support groups for caregivers who would like to connect and meet regularly, either virtually or in person. The Volunteer Peer Support Leader helps to facilitate some of these groups. Groups are initially formed by the Caregiver Engagement Specialist, with a Volunteer Peer Leader assigned to facilitate the group on an ongoing basis.

*Requirement: Personal caregiving experience

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: All volunteers will receive agency-wide and program-specific training before their first shift. The Caregiver Engagement Specialist is available to discuss concerns and to provide ongoing support, as needed.
Community Support Connections offers regular volunteer educational workshops on various topics. All volunteers are notified of upcoming sessions.
Working Conditions: Caregiver support group sessions are typically 2 hours in length
Sessions are held bi-weekly for virtual groups and/or monthly for in-person groups.
Additional time once per month for 1 hour spent connecting with the Caregiver Engagement Specialist about group attendance, required resources, etc.
Accessibility: Accessible work space
Transportation: Car required


Time Commitment

Duration: 1 year or more
Weekday - Daytime
Sessions are typically 2 hours in length.
