Position: Construction Crew Member - Kehl St., Kitchener Build
Location: 242 Kehl Street, Kitchener
Description: For the build to be a success, we are seeking 20 volunteers to help out each day. No experience is necessary - just enthusiasm and the ability to work in a team-based environment. There are a wide range of volunteer tasks which are guided by team leaders. In the summer we build a new block of units as well as complete the work on previously built units to prepare them for homeownership. Tasks include: insulating interior walls, putting up vapour barriers and hanging drywall; installing trim on the doors; painting; installing laminate floors; and working on cosmetic details that augment the house's look and feel. Requirements: Physical Demand
Training Details: Training and mandatory safety orientation is provided at 8:15 a.m. each morning. Green patch CSA-approved safety footwear and Class E, Type II hard hats are mandatory. However, there are some on site for borrowing.
Duration: 3 months or less
Timing: Weekday - Daytime
Time Detail: Monday to Friday, from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Volunteers must be present at 8:15 am for registration, safety orientation and job training. The minimum amount of time requested per volunteer is one full day, so this could be a great group or team building experience!
