Impact Statement Volunteers are integral to providing a variety of recreational, environmental and cultural activities in addition to social support services for seniors.

Description Seeking a friendly, reliable volunteer with excellent communication skills demonstrated ability to read, process, speak clearly over the telephone and understand written English. Must be able to work well independently. The Telephone Reassurance Volunteer will perform tasks such as: call registered older adult clients to ensure their well being and safety, read information pertinent to each call before calling the client, and document each call and any notes from your conversation. This program is run in partnership with Community Support Connections.
Screening includes an interview, references and a police check for the vulnerable sector.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Orientation and training provided by City of Waterloo staff. Working Conditions: Indoors at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex Community Pavilion Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 7 - 12 months Weekday - Daytime Fridays 8:45am to 11:00am. Minimum 6 month commitment.
