Position: Head Coach Softball
Location: Sheppard Public School, Weber Street East, Kitchener, ON, Canada
Impact Statement: Special Olympics is founded on the belief that people with intellectual disabilities can, with proper instruction and encouragement, learn, enjoy and benefit from participation in individual and team sports.
Description: To develop and implement sports skills training and competitive opportunities for athletes with an intellectual disability.

Qualifications
-Knowledge of specific sport discipline
-Organized, independent, and self-motivated
-Strong Leadership skills
-Make all arrangements for sport training sessions including facilities, equipment, etc.
-Work as a team with assistant coaches and encourage further certification
-Obtaining additional NCCP qualifications such as Introduction to Competition Part A and B, 50 hours of Practical Experience, as well as sport specific Technical training is highly recommended

Time Requirement:

Three to five hours per week is the estimated time commitment during the season.
Training Details: Volunteer training will also include on-the-job training and may utilize a buddy system for support and education.
Duration: 3 months or less
Timing: Weekday - Evening
Time Detail: Practices are Wednesdays 6:30-8:00 pm
Age: 12+
