Description - Create a positive, inclusive and welcoming environment - Facilitate large or small group conversations - Encourage participants to engage in conversation and provide one-on-one support as needed - Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to participants during program - Engage in conversations in a non-judgemental manner - Prepare group activities, lessons, and games for assigned weeks - Share information about library and community resources - Perform administrative tasks such as tracking attendance - Contribute to a positive team environment by generating and sharing ideas and tasks - Report program plans and communicate any issues or concerns with library staff

Area(s) of Interest: Library/Research , Mentoring / Tutoring, Newcomer Support

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: - Orientation to Kitchener Public Library - Review of appropriate guidelines and procedures - Volunteers will receive role-specific training on or before their first shift; attendance is mandatory Working Conditions: Library setting Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Support volunteers with special needs, Accessible work space, Support Newcomers Transportation: Not on a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 4 - 6 months Weekday - Evening Time Commitment: Thursday evenings from 6:00pm - 8:00pm from March 20, 2025 to June 26, 2025.
