Position: Day of Event Volunteers - Cambridge - Sun Life Walk to Cure Diabetes
Location: Riverside Park, 49 King Street West, Cambridge, ON, Canada
Impact Statement: By volunteering your time you'll be helping JDRF in our search for a cure to Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). You will be helping individuals with T1D to live healthier, easier, and safer lives while we continue the journey to find a cure.

The 2019 Sun Life Walk to Cure Diabetes for JDRF brings together 35,000+ Canadians from coast to coast to raise $4 million to accelerate the pace of type 1 diabetes research.
Description: Participant Registration
As part of the Registration Crew you will ensure pledge forms are filled out correctly, ensure donations are correct and accept cash and/or credit card donations. This role is for volunteers over the age of 18+.

Refreshment Crew
Become part of the Refreshment Crew and help us set up the refreshment tent.

Kids Zone Crew
This role will assist in the kid activities space - including temporary tattoo application, sidewalk chalk drawing, bubble creators etc.

Route Marshalls
Assist with directing participants along the walk route.

Greeters and Cheer Crew
Become part of the Greeter Crew where you will warmly greet our walkers, ensure they have completed a waiver and direct them to the appropriate registration areas.


In addition to supporting an amazing event raising funds to support cutting edge research, volunteers will receive:
• A t-shirt on event day
• A light lunch after your shift
• Confirmation of volunteer hours
Training Details: Training will be provided on-site
Working Conditions: This event will be happening outdoors - rain or shine! Volunteers should check the weather to ensure they have appropriate clothing and sun protection

While physical requirements vary roles may require bending, standing and lifting

Timing: Weekend - Daytime
Time Detail: Exact shift times will be confirmed, but we ask volunteers to be available from 7:00am to 1:00pm
