Gift Shop Sales Volunteer

Impact Statement St. Mary’s General Hospital is privileged to have 325 volunteers supporting our patients, families, and staff. This committed group of community-minded individuals are an integral part of the St. Mary’s family. They work alongside our staff, patients and families, providing supplementary patient services/support and provide financial support for capital projects.

Description Volunteers assist with sales and complete sales transactions in the Gift Shop. This is an excellent opportunity to meet new people while supporting a great cause. Experience in the retail environment and handling cash would be an asset but is not required. Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, courteous manner is required.

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: General Hospital Orientation is provided, as well as several shifts of hands-on training in the gift shop with an experienced volunteer. Working Conditions: Public facing role. Indoors. Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Support volunteers with special needs, Accessible work space Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 7 - 12 months Weekday - Daytime Shifts are typically 3 hours long once per week. We are currently looking for on call subs with the goal of receiving shifts in the future.
