Impact Statement Client Support Volunteers provide emotional and social support, companionship and practical help to people with a life limiting illness and their families. Volunteers enrich people's lives by sharing their gifts of listening, caring, friendship, humour, respite care, and time.

Description Hospice Waterloo Region is seeking Client Support Volunteers to provide support to individuals in their homes in Cambridge. The time commitment for this role is one 2 to 4 hour visit per week. Day time availability is preferred.
Volunteers who speak other languages in addition to English, i.e. Portuguese, Ukrainian, Croatian, Romanian, are an asset.
Male Volunteers especially needed!

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: The organization provides 35 hours of hospice training in-person. The next training will take place in Spring, 2024. If you have daytime availability to attend training and for daytime volunteering, applications for this training are being accepted now. Working Conditions: Visit Clients in their place of residence, home, hospital, or long-term care settings. Accessibility: Support Newcomers Transportation: Car required

Time Commitment
Duration: 1 year or more Weekday - Daytime, Weekday - Evening Volunteers are asked to be available 2-4 hours each week, for a year of service. Daytime availability is preferred.
