Description
Support the Kitchener Blues Festival as a Beverage Server! Volunteers who are Smart Serve Certified are needed. Kitchener Blues Festival has a wonderful volunteer community and we'd love to welcome you to the crew!

Training / Work Condtions

Training Details: Training includes attending an orientation session in early August. You will receive further instructions via email once an application is submitted and at the orientation, you will receive a volunteer handbook and t-shirt.

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario has adopted mandatory liquor sale and server training programs and now requires recertification every 5 years to ensure that servers, delivery, and sales staff remain well-informed and up to date on current liquor laws and that they maintain the necessary skills and behaviors to sell, serve and deliver alcohol responsibly. Liquor training certificates issued before July 1, 2018, will expire on June 30, 2023. This includes Smart Serve certificates and certificates issued prior to 1995 from the Server Intervention Program (SIP).
Certification is an online process which requires each person to have their own individual account on the smartserve.ca website and complete a 4-5 hour online training course. You must achieve a mark of 80% or higher on the final multiple-choice test, for which you are allowed 2 attempts per course purchase, Please note you are required to allow access to your web camera for ID verification and online test monitoring purposes.
The Kitchener Blues Festival is offering to reimburse volunteers for the cost of a certification/recertification course based on the following:
1. You are an active registered volunteer for the Kitchener Blues Festival with Smart Serve certification.
2. You pass the test by the Certification deadline of June 30, 2023.
3. You email a copy of your new certificate, copy of invoice of payment and your full name to appear on the reimbursement cheque to [email protected].
4. You log in to your KBF volunteer profile at https://www.volgistics.com/vicnet/27675/login and update your Smart Serve number and expiry date.
5. You show ID to receive payment at the 2023 volunteer orientation session or at the designated location on-site during the 2023 festival.
