Impact Statement You can learn bicycle mechanic skills and use them to help ensure your fellow community members have safe and reliable bicycles for transportation, fun, and freedom.

Description Indoor Season (Nov-April) 1. Learn / hone bicycle repair skills from experienced bike mechanics. 2. Repair donated bicycles in our bicycle workspace. Prepare them to be given away or sold at affordable prices to new clients. 3. Tear down donated bicycles that aren’t worth repairing - to reap any useful parts. Outdoor Season (May-Oct) 4. Use your enhanced skills to 'rescue' the bikes of fellow community members at our outdoor season events (mainly Saturdays and some weeknights). Year Round 5. Have fun and 'give back' with like-minded volunteers!

Training / Work Condtions
Training Details: Experienced bike mechanic(s) will provide any mentoring and assistance that you may require. Working Conditions: Indoor Season Well heated / ventilated indoor bike 'shop' well equipped with bike stands, tools, parts. Outdoor Season Enjoy working on bikes outdoors (on Saturdays in Victoria Park near the clocktower; on weeknights at community centres, libraries, etc.) Accessibility: Support Newcomers Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 7 - 12 months Weekday - Daytime, Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Daytime Please refer to redracoon.org/contact for current volunteer training and public repair hours.
