Description The volunteer is responsible for facilitating a Summer Conversation Circle group (between 8 – 10 adult participants). Volunteers will be responsible for brainstorming and planning different topics to allow newcomers to practice their spoken English. These topics should address practical needs of participants, facilitate conversation, and provide opportunities for social connection. Our goal is to support newcomer adults in feeling welcome to the community, confident in their English language skills, and connected to others.

Training Details: Training will be provided once hired by the Program Team Working Conditions: Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible entrance, Wheelchair accessible washroom, Designated accessible parking space, Support volunteers with special needs, Accessible work space, Support Newcomers Transportation: On a bus route

Time Commitment
Duration: 3 months or less Weekday - Daytime, Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Daytime, Weekend - Evening, Anytime 1.5 - 3 Hours per week from July 4 - Aug 17, 2023
