Position: Medieval Week Volunteer - Medieval Week Education Program
Location: 10 King Street West, Kitchener, ON, Canada
Impact Statement: THEMUSEUM is looking for energetic, bright, and artistic volunteers to join our education team during Medieval Week programming. Medieval Week is an education program available to Grade 4 students incorporating the Grade 4 Social Studies: Heritage and Identity curriculum for a fun-filled day-long program at THEMUSEUM.
Description: You will assist with answering questions from teachers, assist our in-character facilitators with workshops, and help assist groups’ transition around the building.

Volunteer Resposibilities:
• Work alongside Interpreters (THEMUSEUM floor staff) and other volunteers by providing
excellent customer/ visitor-service and a learning experience.
• Public-facing role; expected to be able to converse and answer questions about the
day.
• Assist in-character facilitators with workshop when necessary.
• Lead groups of students around building to support the transition from each workshop
they are participating in.
• Welcome school groups and engage with students prior to formal program beginning.

• Work as a team member with staff and volunteers.
Training Details: Volunteers are expected to attend mandatory orientation and training sessions. There will be one on April 23, 2019 from 10 am-2 pm.
Working Conditions: Must be able to spend hours on your feet.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Able to work well as part of a team under the direction and supervision of staff and in a crowded and fast-paced environment.
Duration: 3 months or less
Timing: Weekday - Daytime
Time Detail: Time Commitment Desired: 6 hours per day during Medieval Week programming at THEMUSEUM. Minimum commitment of three days. Medieval week runs from Monday, April 29, 2019, until Monday, May 13, 2019.
